biography

Charli Savage is a multidisciplinary fine artist based in Sydney, Australia.

Born in the UK and raised in Australia, Charli’s love of storytelling began in childhood - disappearing into books, imaginary worlds, and later, the world of acting, which led her to study in Los Angeles. Her creative path took a transformative turn in 2018 when she discovered conceptual photography, rekindling her passion for visual storytelling.

Today, Charli works primarily in watercolour and clay, creating one-of-a-kind artworks inspired by nostalgia, nature and folklore. Her pieces often explore themes of lost innocence, otherworldliness, and the longing to escape the constraints of modern life. Through dreamlike imagery and melancholic charm, she invites viewers into strange little worlds where curiosity still reigns.

She lives in Sydney with her husband, Chris, and their three beloved cats: Damien, Atticus, and Ollie.

artist statement

My work exists within the space where dreams and reality meet, a surreal world that invites us to reconnect with the parts of ourselves long lost to time. Through painting, sculpture, and conceptual storytelling, I explore the faded innocence of childhood and the hidden worlds that lie beneath the surface of our daily lives.

My art is an invitation to step beyond the boundaries of the ordinary and enter a place where imagination can take root once again. I hope my work evokes in viewers a sense of that forgotten wonder that lingers in the corners of our imagination, a reminder that magic exists even in the most subtle details of life. Ultimately, I aim to create pieces that act as portals, offering an escape from the harsh realities of our world and a return to the simple, unburdened curiosity that lies within us all, to see the world not just as it is, but as it could be.

Through my art, I aspire to be a storyteller of the unseen, to capture those elusive emotions that live between words and thoughts. I want to create not just images but experiences - moments of connection and nostalgia, prompting viewers to carry a small piece of that magic back with them into their everyday lives.
