The Story Behind the Art:

This piece came from a fear I think many of us carry: the way we age and fall apart in small, unnoticed ways, until one day the body we’ve lived in no longer feels like home. The idea that one day, the body we’ve lived in, known so well, will simply cease to be. But there’s also something strangely beautiful in that. When we die, whether we’re buried or our ashes are scattered, we become part of the earth again. Nature doesn’t waste anything; it gently takes what’s left and fills in the gaps. There’s something peaceful in that return. A sense of being whole again, even in disappearance. Somewhere along the way, we stop listening to our bodies. We treat them like machines instead of living, breathing parts of us. We push, ignore, numb, and forget that these bodies are trying to speak. I think part of this erosion isn’t just physical, but spiritual too. This painting is my way of sitting with that - the grief, the surrender, and the pull back to something more natural and whole.
