The twisted tale of my ‘Red Riding Hood’:

lurking in the shadows waits a wolf with hungry eyes
in search of a feast of unquestionable size

on a path of light, a girl in red cloak
walks in plain sight with no other folk

and so the story goes on any other night
that the wolf did eat the girl and gave her quite a fright

remember this though, for this particular night
the girl, she took a stance, she did put up a fight

the wolf did run away, tail between his legs
for not every girl needs saving, she was no princess

the girl in the red cloak, braver than the rest
smiled to herself and continued on her quest
