Her Story

The idea for this painting came to me while I was watching the movie ‘Knocked Up’. The scene where Seth Rogan & Paul Rudd’s characters are at the children’s playground, and his kids are running around, playing with bubbles, and Paul’s character says “I wish I liked anything as much as my kids like bubbles”. It got me thinking about how much we lose our sense of wonder as we grow into adults, and how the realities of life take over.

So this painting is like a little love letter to the child still within us. We may have forgotten them, but they are still there, laying dormant and waiting to play. Perhaps growing older doesn't have to mean leaving childhood behind, but rather carrying those daydreams with us wherever we go.
