Her Story

The idea for this painting actually came from a feeling completely opposite to what this painting represents. At the time, I was questioning the path I was on, and I was feeling a little lost creatively. I was looking for inspiration on what to paint, and I started going through my photography work, and there was this self-portrait I’d taken where my head was replaced with a fish bowl, and so I decided to use that, but instead of the bowl replacing my head, I chose to paint it as a separate entity, symbolising an abundance of ideas pouring back in, so I’d never feel lost creatively again. This painting was a turning point for me, and since creating it, my imagination has run wild with inspiration. I hope it can help you find whatever you feel you’ve lost, just like it did for me.
